Investors in People

Smart Training and Recruitment are proud to be one of the 30,000 organisations in the UK recognised as Investors in People. We underwent a review of our Investors in People status in August 2007 and were very pleased to be informed that we continue to meet the high standards set by Investors in People.

Smart Training and Recruitment embraces the Investors in People standard and is committed to enhancing the performance of our organisation through the development of our staff.

Matrix Standard

The Matrix Standard represents a Quality Framework for the effective delivery of Information, Advice and Guidance. Smart Training and Recruitment have been recognised under this framework since 2005 and continue to work to the standards set out by Matrix.

There are currently 3765 organisations in the UK recognised as meeting the Matrix Standard and Smart Training are proud to be one of those centres.

City and Guilds

City and Guilds are the largest Awarding Body of Vocational Training in the UK and have been established for 125 years.

These are two of the many reasons that we have chosen to use them as our Awarding Body for our Accredited Apprenticeship and NVQ training programmes.

Jamie Oliver and Karen Millen are just two big names who completed a City and Guilds Qualification – just look at what they have achieved!

Smart Training and Recruitment embrace the Lifelong Learning ethos and through delivering City and Guilds qualifications we feel that we are able to provide positive learning experiences, and encourage our learners to continue their education.

We have been a City and Guilds Accredited centre since 1999 and currently deliver qualifications over 6 Sectors, as well as Key Skills and Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy programmes.

Chartered Institute of Environmental Health

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is the Awarding Body of choice for our courses relating to Public Health and Environmental Health.

We have been running CIEH accredited courses since 1999 and currently cover the following subject areas at a range of levels:

• Food Safety
• Health and Safety

We work closely with the CIEH to ensure that the courses we deliver are of the highest standard and in line with the CIEH mission statement which is:

“Our mission is to maintain, enhance and promote improvements in environmental and public health through knowledge, understanding and campaigning.”

Smart Training and Recruitment is dedicated to informing and updating our learners with the relevant standards and requirements for work in the Public and Environmental health sectors through the delivery of CIEH courses.

British Institute of Innkeeping Awarding Body (BIIAB)

The following qualifications that Smart Training and Recruitment deliver are accredited by the BIIAB.

• BIIAB National Certificate for Personal License Holders
• BIIAB Award in Beer and Cellar Quality
• BIIAB Award in Customer and Drink Service

The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) is the professional body for the licensed retail sector and the BIIAB is their awarding body. The BIIAB is accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and is also the leading awarding body for the licensed retail sector.

Wine & Spirit Education Trust

The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) was founded in 1969 with the purpose of providing high quality education in Wines and Spirits. The WSET is now the foremost International Body in the field of wines and spirits education and now has its own membership body – The Institute of Wines & Spirits.

We currently run two courses which are accredited by the WSET:

• WSET Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Wines
• WSET Level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Wines and Spirits
