Talk about your career and training - help young people near you, UK-wide

July 16 2009

At Smart Training we believe in Corporate Social Responsibility and we are sure you do, too.

We are keen to see more young people make good career choices and choose the education and training they need to fulfill their dream. So we are partnering with not-for-profit Growing Ambitions and encouraging career speaker volunteering among our staff, clients and client employers.

We are urging them all, as well as visitors to our website, to volunteer a half-an-hour talk about their job and career to young people near where they live or work wherever they are in the UK.

Careers advisers in schools and colleges everywhere are often under-resourced and need the input from the world of work. Their young people need information to help them make informed career choices.

You can sign up today – it takes just a few minutes – through our volunteering portal below.
Speak just once and then opt out, if you want to. Over 800 career types are catered for. If yours is not listed notify info@growingambitions.org to get it added.

Four simple steps

1 Register to Speak – a few minutes to complete a screen
2 Wait to be contacted by a careers adviser (from a school, college or uni near your home or
workplace)
3 To and fro by email with them to fix a good date and time
4 Go in and speak.

Here’s a Speaker’s Guide with a few useful tips for talking about your job.
