Access to
Apprenticeship
As a learner on our Access to Apprenticeship programme, you have the opportunity to gain Key Skills and units towards nationally recognised vocational qualifications.
This is carried out in a work placement* provided by a local employer, who will provide training and support in your specialist sector area. Working under a three way agreement, you will be regularly visited by one of our sector specialist Training Advisors, who will assess you towards against the relevant level of knowledge and competency required for the Apprenticeship framework.

- Gives you the opportunity to gain accredited certification for Key Skills, NVQ and Technical Certificate units that are successfully completed.
- This programme is aimed at people aged between 16-24 and who are unemployed and not in any other form of education or training.
- Access to Apprenticeship training is available in Retail, Customer Service, Cleaning and Support Services, Business and Administration, Housekeeping and Hospitality.
- You may maintain your entitlement to benefits whilst accessing this programme, along with claiming travel allowance subject to terms and conditions.
- Expectation is that you will progress into paid employment within 3 to 6 months and have the opportunity to complete the full Apprenticeship.

Note *
The programme offers the opportunity to gain elements of an Apprenticeship framework, whilst carrying out work experience for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
